About the event
The Fundação do Futebol - Liga Portugal, as a link between Football and Social Responsibility, will associate itself with the Thinking Football Summit, on September 12, to launch the Second International Conference on Sports Foundations, the major meeting dedicated to foundations, which was a success in its first edition.
An approach of assessment and reflection on the major themes that link Professional Football and social intervention, as a platform for promotion and a driving force for essential social change today.
Environmental Sustainability, Approaching Local Communities and the various innovative projects for a more positive Football will be some of the topics for debate and reflection among the various national and international guests.

thinking football summit 2024
Considered the biggest Portuguese event dedicated to Football, the Thinking Football Summit is already a benchmark in the European sporting calendar and returns for its third edition on 12, 13 and 14 September at the Super Bock Arena in Porto. Drawing from the experiences of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, XU Sustainable, and Twenty7, we delve into the challenge of promoting societal change inspired by football, with a particular focus on the industry's necessary adaptation to new sustainability reporting standards.
Under the European Green Deal, which aims for climate neutrality by 2050, the European Union's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive inspires new practices in this area, with technology as an ally. Educating for sustainability is an urgent task for sports professionals and society as a whole, as environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance takes on a new dimension in organizational strategy.

Betting has had a millennia-long connection to sports, which only has been broadly and deeply structured across Europe and the rest of the world in the past few decades. In Portugal, online gambling, including sports betting, has been legislated and regulated since 2015, with the first operators launching in 2016.
